The Healthy Parent Carer Team are off to Ljubljana, Slovenia next week to present at the European Academy for Childhood Disability Conference.
We are chairing a symposium titled: Promoting health, empowerment, and resilience in parents of disabled children: an exploration of novel parent carer-focused interventions.
The symposium will feature Healthy Parent Carers as well as two other programmes from Australia and Canada, namely Healthy Mothers, Healthy Families and ENVISAGE: ENabling VISions and Growing Expectations. We will explain how the programmes have been co-created with parent carers and that they are more complementary than competing, as each has different aims, target group and content. We hope to have a great discussion with participants about the need for parent carer-focused programmes, programme content and delivery strategies and ways to evaluate programmes.
