Having just trained 5 new pairs of Lead and Assistant Facilitators in the autumn, there are now 5 more Healthy Parent Carer programmes being run in different parts of the country ranging from Exmouth to Teesside. 46 parent carers are currently experiencing the benefits of meeting together and learning about CLANGERS and strategies to improve their health and wellbeing. It’s great to see the programme start to spread out across the UK. Our hope is that many more parent carers will be able to benefit in future. Parent Carer Forums around England are expressing enthusiasm.
“Oh I had forgotten about the small things and the moment my child laughs that gives me joy”
“This programme is really making me take time to think, connecting with others has been so great”
We are training 5 more pairs of facilitators starting in May. This current Facilitator Training course is full and we are taking bookings for the autumn.
Our University of Exeter placement student from the Business School in Cornwall, Cris Tapliga, has done some preliminary research into what’s involved in setting up a Community Interest Company to manage the HPC programme in the future. Our goal is to make it available sustainably nationwide to as many parent carers as possible. We’re also entertaining a few international enquiries!
We recently met with some of our Family Faculty to discuss the proposed changes to the HPC website. We’re giving it a refresh to reflect the interest from people wanting to commission the HPC programme in their area, as well as it being a research project.
